Introduction
Our ISP Sometimes works with passive Internet which makes the Internet without power but our router will need power in that case you can use this project. Every device that connects to the Internet has a battery except the WiFi Router. RouterUPS is a purpose built low-powered UPS to keep your WiFi 24x7 inspite of power-cuts so that you can work, play and shop from home with complete peace of mind.
Block diagram-
Components –
1. 12V battery Voltage regulator
2. Lithium ion batteries
3. Relay
How it works?
First we have input of 12V which provides power to router as well as battery to charge itself once the charging of battery is done BMS controls the over charging of batteries.
BMS has the same lines of Output and input we have connected it to differ places using relay so BMS can be acts as source in power cut mode and destination in power on mode
To trigger the relay we have used 12V source connection direct from the power supply.
Advantages of router UPS
1. We can have some power backup after power cut for our routers.
2. If internet provider supports passive connection (which most ISP do) you can stay connected for 4-5 hours
3. It is cheap
